in 2022, are the highest level of their respective notebook products in 2022 from size to performance, from expansion to price.



The author got these two models in early November (hereinafter referred to as "F16G9" and "P16G1", respectively), and after nearly a month of testing, the author has issued three review articles respectively, with a total of more than 40,000 words and more than 300 pictures.

Both configurations are optional high-grade configurations, but there are some differences, mainly in CPU, memory, and hard disk. The official initial detailed configuration of the two is shown in the following diagram.


However, in order to give full play to the respective performance and functions of the two, and at the same time try to achieve the same hardware configuration, and finally achieve a fair comparison, the author of course has to upgrade the configuration of the two.


Originally, the author had no plans to write such a comparative evaluation article, because the above-mentioned "6 articles with a total of more than 40,000 words and more than 300 pictures" are enough for readers who have time, patience and at the same time to be careful to already have a count in their hearts after reading it.
However, due to the desire of some readers and the desire of the author to try it, there was a plan to write this comparative review article, and in order to realize this plan, I had to start preparing and preparing.

First of all, for the body, CPU and GPU of the two, the author has no realistic technical equipment and cannot make any changes.
Fortunately, there is not much difference between the two CPUs and GPUs:
the difference is that the i9-12950HX of the F16G9 supports Intel vPRO technology and ECC memory, locking the overclocking cap for long-term stability, and the price will be more expensive.
Other aspects are the same as the i9-12900HX of P16G1, which is 16 cores (8P-core + 8E-core), 24 threads, P core 2.5~5.0GHz, E-core 1.7~3.6GHz, cache of 30MB, support DDR5-4800 memory, integrated Intel UHD graphics graphics.


In addition to the same integrated Intel UHD graphics card, the discrete graphics cards of the two are the current mobile professional graphics card king NVIDIA RTX A5500, the difference is as follows:
the TGP custom value of the F16G9 graphics card is 100 watts The memory bandwidth is only 448.06GB/s;
The P16G1 is 130 watts and 512GB/s.


Then there are the two screens, the author believes that there is no need to upgrade at present, and it does not affect the performance and function of the test---- at most it has an impact on battery life, but it can basically be ignored.
If necessary, both can disable their own screens and connect to external monitors for testing, which can completely rule out the impact of different screens.

So, in the end, the only thing I can upgrade is the storage system----- memory and hard disk.
Both support 4 pieces of memory, and some of the tests have been completed in their respective review articles, which will be done again in the case of ----- hard disk upgrade.
F16G9 supports 4 M.2 SSDs:


while P16G1 is disappointed that only supports 2 M.2 SSDs---- for now, in this final, it seems that there will be such a biased prediction--- P16G1 will lose too many points in this area.
In any case, practice is the only test of truth!
In any case, the competition venue and equipment must be completed!

Therefore, the following equipment was prepared on the field:

• 4 strips of 16GB DDR5-4800 memory;

• 4 strips of 32GB DDR5-4800 memory;

• 2 strips Micro 3400 PCIe 4.0 2TB SSD;

• 1 Western Digital PC SN810 PCIe 4.0 2TB SSD;

• 2 x Seagate FireCuda 530 PCIe 4.0 4TB SSD.

The total market price is about ¥17000,20.

As for the competition venue, of course, it is still (and can only be) the author's personal study---- the air conditioning is set at 50 degrees Celsius--- but in fact, due to the current humid and cold temperature (the author's distance from Changsha is about 15 kilometers, naturally the southern winter is wet and cold), the room temperature is about <> degrees Celsius.

The venue is ready, the equipment is in place, and the competition can start!

Appearance and mind
as a person (some readers will automatically replace it with "girl"), although people cannot look, but the appearance of beauty, still everyone likes.
The same is true as a laptop.
Therefore, P16G1 takes advantage of the debut of the 16-inch model, using a new exterior design language---- officially known as "Aston Martin Design"---- the most obvious place is that there is a red line behind the fuselage.

As we all know, Aston Martin is a luxury car company, although this time ThinkPad is not the same as so-and-so, and it co-launched P16G1, but why is it called "Aston Martin Design"?
The author deliberately went to the Aston Martin official website for a temporary surprise study, and found that the central purpose of Aston Martin is as follows:
the pursuit of beauty is always the principle that Aston Martin adheres to.
Continuing to break it down, it is as follows:
Aston Martin's only beauty models have always been synonymous with excellent performance, customized craftsmanship, technological innovation and timeless style, loved by the world, is a treasure that car fans dream of---- this, in addition to custom craftsmanship, can be related to P16G1, but this is every product every manufacturer has words but can't do;
Aston Martin's only beauty purpose, the Vanquish Zagato design has abstract red taillights---- which seems to be the origin of the thin red line on the rear of the P16G1? But the shape is too different, no!


Aston Martin's only beauty purpose, designed the crazy performance, road-legal F1 car Valkyrie, like a Valkyrie with beautiful lines and thick muscles, the taillights behind its body are a thin red line----Well, that's right!


This is the design of the P16G1 from the ----'s pursuit of excellent performance, the body is thick and solid, plus a thin red line.


Personally, I accept and love the P16G1's Storm Gray and Thunder Black contrast design---- and as early as last year when I bought the ThinkPad P15s Gen 2, I deliberately chose the Storm Gray version.


I also bought the ThinkPad X13 Gen 2 last year, also choosing the Storm Gray version.
As for whether all users like it, this is a question of turnip cabbage having their own love, and opinions are diverse.


As for the thin red line, Luo Yonghao, a Chinese Internet traffic tycoon that I admire, whose new startup is called "Thin Red Line", has a sentence on the official website:

Of course, the author believes that this thin red line, ThinkPad officially did not give such a tall meaning, just the design of Aston Martin Valkyrie imitated, so the P16G1 does look very impactful and recognizable in appearance.



Look at the F16G9, its design language, still the same as its suffix "G9", is indeed ZBook for a long time---- although it cannot be said to be the 9th generation, but as the third generation of Fury, Fury's second new mold, the style is still continuing.
This style is an understated, elegant color system:


there is also soft and rigid, and soft lines in rigidity.


The color system and lines of the F16G9, the author did not find HP's official mention of the design purpose, and there is no folklore where it is inherited.


From the author's visual and psychological point of view, like a set of men's clothing--- a close-fitting, low-key and elegant gray casual suit, it can be said that:

In summary, the author believes that
as the latest 16-inch 16:10 screen, a pen motor body aimed at performance and expansion, P16G1 and F16G9 have their own advantages in appearance, and it is difficult to distinguish between high and low.
But from a historical point of view, P16G1 is revolution, F16G9 is reform---- revolution is unbearable, and reform is sustainable development.
However, this matter, it is not convenient for the author to elaborate, this is a topic belonging to the Keyboard Politburo / Political Keyboard Bureau.

As for the soul, both are aimed at performance and expansion, and both are good comrades who strive for a better community with a shared future for mankind, which is beyond reproach.
In terms of the main hardware configuration that determines performance, the two are the same level, but there are differences in their respective settings and strategies---- in other words, the two comrades have the same goal, but the ideas for achieving the goal are different---- that is, the policies, guidelines, and plans are different.
